"Maturity Leave"

Ok, so there is this girl who's desk is next to mine at XanGo. She only works in the evenings so I usually only see her when I'm on my way out. Anyway, she was on her Maternity leave for a while and yesterday was her first day back. I was lucky enough to take this picture before she took it down. Now you need to understand that this girl is from Hong Kong so her English isn't perfect...but I, along with many others, got a kick out of this note she left on her computer.

Wouldn't it be nice to take a leave of absence for this? I can think of many who could use it...including myself. Hahah! :)

...need to vent.

I came home yesterday after working out and told Ryan we needed to go to the store & buy more fruits and veggies. We got to talking about food, which turned into gas prices and ethanol. Sometimes I don't like to listen to new things the country is doing, because it's all about politics and I'm not a fan of the subject. Well this time I listened to what Ryan was saying about Ethanol and how the price of wheat, corn, grains, etc. have gone up in price 200%. WHAT?! Then he tells me that he found out that you could feed a family for a year with how much grains and corn it takes to fill up one tank of Ethanol. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!! I should have been paying attention to all of this, but haven't. I understand that gas prices are going up, and believe me if I could find something to help that from happening I would. But here we are trying to find the best thing for us, when people all over the world are being effected by this. Do we not realize that we already have starving people in the world, and we're taking even more away just to fill up our luxury cars so we can be comfortable and not have to walk around anywhere?! I'm sorry, but this really ticks me off!! I will be happy to ride a bike or walk each day to work if it means it would help.

Anyway, Looks like we'll need to buy our grains for food storage right away. We have really been stocking up on other things for our food storage, but we haven't done the grain part yet.

I stopped to think about all of this and realized that these are definitely the signs of the times, here comes the famine(is that how you spell it?)

Aidan's Birthday

My nephew Aidan had a birthday a little over a week ago, and I kept forgetting to put some pictures up. We had a combined Birthday party over the weekend for Shane, Sharon & Aidan (all in the same family). So, here are some of those pics...

Fun with Sharon

So, my lovely sister in law, Sharon, will be turning 30 this Sunday. Since she decided to take today off I wanted to make sure she had the pleasure of having her desk here at work decorated, etc. So, I had the idea that on top of decorating her desk I wanted to make her feel REALLY special. What better way to do that then by plastering pictures of her all over the call center, saying that she is turning 30. I called Shane to see if he had a good idea of what I could write on those pictures that would be funny... this is what he told me to write...

Flower Girl...

Ryan's aunt Pat was married on March 8th. She asked us to take some pictures, which Ryan mostly did because I wasn't feeling well. I did however manage to take a few myself. This one I absolutely love! This is Pat's grand-daughter Kenadee, a bubbly outgoing girl, who looks so cute in her dress as a flower girl. We'll post more pictures once we get to it but I had to put this one up for all to see.

Conference weekend - photo session

We had the wonderful opportunity to listen to General Conference this weekend. It was so wonderful to hear our new Prophet speak, along with a new First Presidency and many new leaders in the church. It was really neat to be able to stand in our living room and sustain President Monson as our new Prophet. What an amazing man he is!

My sister Caitilin and her family came into town on Saturday. It was so fun having them stay at our house. While they were here I wanted to make sure I got some pictures of her boys, Gavin (5) & Ryan (4). We had so much fun with them. They were really into building airplanes with some Lego's, and hot wheels that we had. Little Ryan thought it was amazing that he has an Uncle with his same name. He kept saying "Uncle me?". The first day Gavin asked me for some water. Instead of just a glass I got him a water bottle and put the letter G on the top of the lid. He was so excited about this; that he had his very own water bottle to take out and put in the fridge. I did the same for Ryan. So, that's why I have some pictures of the infamous water bottles. Also, I need to mention that this first picture was technically taken by Caiti. I positioned Gavin, and she snapped it. I love the way it looks. :)
