Running...

Have you ever had those dreams where you are running and running and never get tired; you feel so free? That's what I want, but in real life. Me and my friend from work, Brea, have been training to run 5k. She's now up to doing 2 miles everyday and me...well...I'm still training doing my basic walk 2 minutes, run 1 minute until I get to a mile. I have been doing this 3 times a week, and strength training on the off days. However, last week I did nothing. I admit that I am the first to quit something I'm doing. I tend to do this a lot with things I want to accomplish. Why? I don't know. Am I afraid of succeeding? Who know's! But it drives me nuts.

So, this time I don't want to quit!! I want to keep going and be forever in love with running. When I see people run I get the urge to do the same thing. I'll go run outside for maybe 5 minutes and then get tired and stop. Next thing I know three months has passed and I never got back to running. I really don't know what my deal is.

I really need someone to be on my butt about this and to help me to keep going. Anyone willing to take the job?

Puppy Love...

Isn't this the most adorable face you've ever seen? "Could you just die!" (Caiti, name that movie)

Ryan and I often visit the Animal Ark pet store in American Fork. We love to look at the puppies they have. Who know's if we'll ever get one - hoping that a child will come first. This chihuahua is the most beautiful one I've ever seen. His eyes were green and just gorgeous! I literally couldn't stop looking at him. I haven't ever really been a big fan of chihuahua's but this one was different. Ryan took this picture with his cell phone and sent it to me. I'm in love!...too bad we couldn't take him home with us.

Return to Pooh Corner

For Mother's Day my brothers Conn & Shane, and sister Erin made a CD of songs. This is something that my mom has always wanted from us kids, a CD of songs sung by us. So, we did our best to make this happen. But as it is with big families and due to scheduling conflicts and some living outside Utah, etc...we weren't able to get everyone on it - including myself; I was taking family pictures (see previous post).

Needless to say, there were plenty of tissue going around as we all presented the CD to our Mom on Mother's Day. As soon as she heard "Return to Pooh Corner" playing she exclaimed, "this is my favorite song!", and then realized it wasn't Kenny Loggins singing, but Conn. This is where the tissue came in handy as she burst into tears. The next verse was sung by Erin and Conn and then as she heard her grandkids, Owen & Aidan, laughing in the background the tears flowed even more. It seemed fitting for Shane to finish off in the last verse considering his boys were the ones laughing in the background. All in all they did an amazing job!!

This particular song, "return to pooh corner" has been a favorite of my mom's since Kenny Loggins put it out on CD.

You can listen to the song on my playist to the right, "Return to Pooh Corner--Conn, Erin, Shane" Or you can listen to it here on Sharon's playlist.

Photo session

I had the opportunity of taking family pictures of my co-workers, the Lewis Family. I had so much fun getting to know all of them and just having fun with them. Here are a few pictures from that session.

They really ARE back!!! WOOHOO!!!

It's offical, well it was official about a month ago. My obsession over NKOTB is starting all over again! Ryan thinks I'm a freak, and I probably am, but there's nothing like being able to actually re-live my teenage obsession over the New Kids on the Block. It was me, Erin, Caitilin and our friend Karen "Harv" Jensen who would eat, sleep & breathe New kids on the block. We went to every event possible that had to do with this group; going to JCPenney for a contest for the best NKOTB poster. We thought we had it in the bag until we saw a poster that was literally the size of what it was, a Mazda Miata (Joey-Joe's first car) filled with life size posters of the boys. Yeah, our hearts were broken because I think they won backstage passes to their concert. Oh well, we still got to go their concert.

We had it all...the hats, gi-normous buttons, water bottles, videos, posters that filled every nook & cranny of our room, t-shirts, etc. We were freaks of nature! But, man, those were the best days too.

I just found out from Harv that they're touring this year and will be here in Salt Lake in November!! WOOHOO!! We're so going to it. Caiti even said she would fly out for it. I'm crossing my fingers that my brother Quinn can get us really good seats - hopefully around the 1st row.

Oh man I'm so GIDDY!!!

Here is a clip of their new song that was performed on the Today show.

Need some help...

I am taking family pictures on Saturday in South Jordan. Does anyone know of some great outdoor spots where I could take them? It doesn't need to be in just South Jordan. I'm trying to find anywhere in the south Salt Lake Valley. I've considered Gardner Village but I've only been there once, and it was a long time ago. Any suggestions would be fabulous!!

Thanks!

I love SPRING!!!

I do! I love everything about spring, except the occasional snow that shows up randomly. I love the smell of the flowers, the blossoms, and the rain - which is much more welcome then the snow. I have taken pictures of the blossoms on the trees, and flowers, in years past but haven't done so in a while. So, here are a few that I took yesterday by my work at Thanksgiving Point.
