I love Lavender. Love, love love it. I love the look of it, the smell of it, everything about it. I love it in abundance, I love a few sprigs of it, in bouquets...I love Lavender.
Back in 2002, during the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, my sister and I were wandering around the Gateway Mall. It was a chaotic place at that time; people everywhere. We walked into this calendar store where my love of Lavender started. I saw a Calendar by an artist, Amy Melious, it was full of pictures of Lavender, paintings of Lavender. Lavender in a white bedroom, Lavender fields, Lavender sprigs in a glass of lemonade with sliced lemons in it. My obsession started then and there.
I love the simplicity of it. If I could live anywhere it would be among Lavender fields. I even had Ryan plant 3 Lavender bushes in our backyard when he landscaped it a few summers ago. Sometimes for my Young Women Lessons I cut off a few sprigs from the bushes and make a small bouquet as a center piece for my lesson. I even bring some indoors.
It's just a small obesssion, really. :)
