...Scattered pic-tures...(name that movie). So, Yesterday after work I came home feeling a little nostolgic (sp?). I was reminiscing through my mind about the things my sister Caiti and I loved to do, listen to & watch. This was all right before my mission, mind you...way back in good 'ole 1999.
I remember she and I were watching the grammys of '99 and seeing for the first time on TV, RICKY MARTIN perform his AWESOME debut of "La Copa de la vida" or "The Cup of life" for you non-spanish speakers. For some reason we had recoreded the grammys and were able to rewind his performance and watch it over, and over, and over again. YES! We were bitten by the Latin hottie, and the Latin culture for that matter- which was especially exciting for me since I was about to head out to Chile, and after having wanted to be able to speak spanish since I was in Jr. High.
Anyway, I found the clip of his performance of that night on youtube. I almost felt giddy watching it for the first time in about 10 years; don't know where that dang VHS went. So, in honor of those days, I bring you Ricky Martin singing "La copa de la vida"...take it away!!!

"Goin' to the chapel and we're...
ok, not getting married...but just having fun! I asked my beautiful sister-in-law Sharon if she would let me practice taking bridal pictures on her because it's been a while since I've done Bridals and I needed the practice, plus I knew she could still fit into her wedding dress after almost 8 years of marriage and 2 kids later...so not fair! She was totally excited about it and decided to bring a friend a long, Aly.
We had so much fun taking these pictures - even though the snake in the grass almost put a damper on the day, so funny! They were both excellent sports and I sure appreciate their help and being my guinea pigs. :)

I have been approved!!!
"Shannon Hadden
Congratulations! Based on our review of your application, you qualified for the program and have been approved as an Affiliated Photographer to serve on behalf of the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation."
This is the email I got yesterday from this foundation that I had applied for about 2 months ago. I'm so excited to be a part of this foundation! If any of you don't know what 'Now I lay me down to sleep' is, it's a non-profit foundation that helps families who have a baby that was still born, or died shortly after birth. A photographer goes to the Hospital and takes pictures of the baby so that the parents have some portraits to remember of their child, who didn't live long enough to be taken to a photo studio with their blessing outfit, etc. Obviously this is only if the family wants these pictures taken.
The first time I heard about this was from a co-worker who heard it on the news. After watching the video on KSL I was moved to tears and knew I wanted to be apart of it. How amazing it is to be able to give this act of service to families in their most trying time. I'm so grateful to now have the opportunity to be a part of it.

Love this one...
As Ryan and I were babysitting O&A last saturday I came across this shirt of Owen's that I thought was brilliant! So, I had to take a picture.

Here are more pictures taken from that day...
Owen & Grandpa

After painting with chalk I told Aidan he had chalk all over his bum...here he is trying to see his bum.

What to do??
I'm not a crafty person, as most of you know. However, I would like to be somewhat crafty, but not so crafty that I'm making hangers out of paperclips or using old shampoo bottles and decorating them for future use - not that I've seen anyone do either of these things...but I think you catch my drift.
What I really want to do is learn to sew, and make a cute blanket for Lexus' room, or...yeah...this is where my creativity ends. Here are some fabrics that I bought at Gardner Village. Any ideas what I could do with them??

Our new toy

After doing all our computer needs on Ryan's 8 year old laptop we decided it was time to upgrade. This is our new toy, and boy are we having fun! Take a look at some of the awesomely crazy pictures we've been taking on our photobooth on this MacBook. These were taken while we were watching Owen & Aidan yesterday...too much fun!

Owen & Aidan
I sure love all of my nephews!! A few Sunday's back we invited Shane & Sharon and the boys, as well as Erin over for dinner. We had a great time together and we really enjoy being with them, especially Owen & Aidan. These two boys are so silly and so fun! They absolutely love their Uncle Ryan, and are always asking for him. Here are a few pictures taken from that day...in all their sillyness.

Katie
Saturday I had such a fun time taking pictures of Brea's little girl, Katie. This is my second time taking pictures of her - you can see others of her I took back in April. This girl is a hoot! She was so involved in everything around her, which made it so she didn't look at the camera a lot...but that's ok. These are my favorite kinds of pictures.
This session was special because the dress that Katie is wearing is the same dress that Brea wore when she was a toddler. I swear this dress looked brand new!

I think this one is so funny! She's always making the funniest faces, and this one truly shows her personality!
