I'm addicted

I've never been a nail polish person. I'd put it on for a while until it chipped and when my nails would grow, even just a little...I'd bit them off, thanks to my anxiety.

That is until I put some on at work the other day, (shhhh...don't tell anyone) and then my nails started growing, beautifully. Then I'd clean that one off and put a new color on; nails grew more, then a new one, and so on.

My nails look good. They've never looked good because I always bite them off. I've restrained from ripping these things off for the past 3 weeks now.

I'm having trouble playing my guitar, and typing on my laptop, and picking my nose (not really...ok totally...you do too, don't deny it!)...but it's worth it.

5 years...

5 years ago today I started working at the best company there is!

I was reminded that it was my 5 year anniversary when my bosses, and all the people I work with came over to my desk clapping. I was fearful for a split second, but then as they sang "Happy 5 year Anniversary", it hit me that this was the day...

...the day that I said goodbye to Kiddie Kandids, after having been there for 5 years, and the day that, even though I started at the bottom, I would end up on top here. And I have. I've been a Manager here for over 4 years. I Love it!

Sure there are some harder days when you're responsible for roughly 40+ people, and when deadlines are coming up and I feel like my brain can't retain anymore information, and I feel more frustrated then ever...

...but then there are the times when I'm greeted by the most amazing people around. I have the best co-workers, bosses, Supervisors, Team Leaders, agents. They make the difficult days seem like nothing. Seriously, I couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with.

Not to mention we have the BEST founders of the company, who created a culture unlike any other. We have fun at work. We work hard, but we definitely play hard.

I'm grateful for these past 5 years. Here's to 5+ more...

(Cinco De Mayo fun at work)

Thanksgiving fun with my bosses (Kaj, and TJ on the top left) and the other managers, Sadie and Violeta on the bottom. Cheri, TJ's assistant is next to me. The others don't work here anymore.

Some of my agents thought this would be funny for me to find while getting to work early one morning, and heading towards my desk. It was fun!

Weekend Fun!

This weekend was probably one of the more eventful weekends I've had in a while, and man was it fun!

It started with my nephews, Owen & Aidan, staying over night on Friday while they're parents celebrated their 10th Anniversary. We had fun eating pizza, playing in the park, watching movies, and reading stories and singing songs at bedtime.

Love these boys!

Here we are having a little camera fun... (I've decided that in these pictures Aidan reminds me of 'Squints' (sans glasses) from the movie 'The Sandlot'. - so cute!)

Saturday morning my sister Erin, and a few friends from my neighborhood went to see ECLIPSE . SO GOOD! Here we are having a little fun in the photobooth outside the theatre (obviously I don't have a scanner, so forgive the old school way of scanning).

After the movie, I did some grocery shopping and prepared this yummy desert for after dinner with the Fromm's.

After eating we headed outside and watch Ryan and Brian lite up the fireworks on our street. Lindsey and I had fun writing "Happy 4th of July" (you can see in the previous post).

Sunday was great! I loved singing "The Star Spangled Banner" for the closing Sacrament Hymn, especially with everyone standing up.

That night we drove around with the Fromm's, and came back home to finish up lighting the rest of the fireworks, and have even more fun with Sparklers. We were joined by the Shum's, Gray's and our newest neighbors. Oh man, it was fun! There were a few moments of fear when fireworks got a little out of control, and when the guys had a "plan" of what they were going to do next, which involved soda cans, and buckets. Serious pyro's there.

The girls (below)...

'Nuff said about the boys...

All in all is was a great weekend! I'm so happy to be home from work today too! :)

Hope your weekend was splendid!

Today

We had a get-together with the Fromm's last night. We at dinner, lit fireworks and sparklers in honor of this special day. A lot of fun was had as Lindsey and I tried over and over to get this "fire writing" right. I did the top and she did the bottom. She did much better then me, but it was fun nontheless.
