Running...

Have you ever had those dreams where you are running and running and never get tired; you feel so free? That's what I want, but in real life. Me and my friend from work, Brea, have been training to run 5k. She's now up to doing 2 miles everyday and me...well...I'm still training doing my basic walk 2 minutes, run 1 minute until I get to a mile. I have been doing this 3 times a week, and strength training on the off days. However, last week I did nothing. I admit that I am the first to quit something I'm doing. I tend to do this a lot with things I want to accomplish. Why? I don't know. Am I afraid of succeeding? Who know's! But it drives me nuts.

So, this time I don't want to quit!! I want to keep going and be forever in love with running. When I see people run I get the urge to do the same thing. I'll go run outside for maybe 5 minutes and then get tired and stop. Next thing I know three months has passed and I never got back to running. I really don't know what my deal is.

I really need someone to be on my butt about this and to help me to keep going. Anyone willing to take the job?

I know how you feel. I've slacked off this last week. You have 1 month until the 5K in Springville. If you can't run the whole thing, it's ok. I do it all the time; you just have to go just a little further the next time.

Totally understand...and not only am I the first to quit things, but the first to start things again as well. Sometimes you just have to throw away a 'bad' week, and start fresh the new week! Keep it up, you are going to do this! :)

Running is difficult. I admire the people that stay commited. I'm impressed that you have the goal of running the 5K...it's hard to force yourself to do something when your body is saying "are you crazy". Your mind is a powerful thing...let it win out in the end.
